Human Nature mixes Christmas classics with Motown favorites at Borgata

Human Nature

Human Nature treated the audience to a special night of music. The quartet seamlessly blended together songs from the Motown Era and classic holiday hits in Atlantic City during their two sold-out performances at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. Fans heard everything from standards to ballads, and the musicians even worked in a few lines from “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” a song in Disney’s hit movie, Frozen. Photo:

Human Nature are Australia’s leading pop vocal group and have released several albums. The singers also write their own original material and have sold millions of records world-wide. This year marks the group’s 26th year together. Their story begins with four high school students—brothers Andrew and Mike Tierney, Phil Burton and Toby Allen—who discovered an interest in soul, gospel and harmony groups. They quickly formed a singing group that started out as a tribute to their love of a cappella doo-wop.

However, it was the release of their Motown tribute, Reach Out: The Motown Record, which rose to the top of the charts, went platinum five times and attracted the attention of famed songwriter Smokey Robinson that catapulted them into the next level. Human Nature recorded “Get Ready” with Robinson and shortly after, he presented the group with an exclusive booking at Las Vegas’ Imperial Palace. For several years, the group played five and six nights a week to sold-out crowds.

Now, Human Nature tours the world and continues to share their love of the Motown era with audiences around the globe. At the Borgata, they featured tunes from almost every decade along with some sets with singer Ruby Lewis who will make her Broadway debut in the spring of 2016 as “The Leading Lady” in Cirque du Soleil’s first Broadway show, Paramour, at New York’s Lyric Theatre.

With so many different genres of music, Human Nature continues to delivers a classic sound that honors the music and soul of Motown.
