With his playful personality and musical talent, Keith Urban
With his playful personality and musical talent, Keith Urban performed for fans at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City over the weekend. During the high energy concert, those in attendance sang and danced to the country rocker’s hits.
Urban opened the concert with “You Gonna Fly” from his 2010 album, Get Closer along with his four piece band and followed the hit with “Put You In A Song.”
In addition to his vocal ability, he delighted fans with his guitar playing skills. While growing up in Australia, he learned to play the guitar at the age of six. Now, the musician plays several instruments with his unique style of blending the country and rock genres. Saturday night, Urban welcomed the crowd, saying “Good Evening Atlantic City, New Jersey–it’s nice to be back!”
The star scanned the room and read signs fans made him. With security guard nearby, the recording artist made his way through the crowd of screaming admirers to the middle of the Events Center where he sang, “Long Hot Summer;” “Stupid Boy,” from his 2006 album Love, Pain & The Whole Crazy Thing; and “Making Memories of Us,” from his 2004 album Be Here.
Among others accolades the international singer-songwriter has been honored with Grammy Awards, Country Music Association Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards, a People’s Choice Award, American Music Awards and Australia’s Aria Award.
Urban truly reached his fans at every level while belting out his hits Saturday night. Wanting to include everyone he walked to the back of the arena, up the risers to a microphone set-up for him to serenade concert-goers further away from the stage. On his elevated mini stage, he sang “I’m In” much to the delight of those with seats in the back.
As he walked through the crowd, he took pictures and shook many hands. Back on-stage Urban sang his mega hit, “You’ll Think of Me;” followed by “Days Go By;” and “Til Summer Comes Around” a single from his 2009 album Defying Gravity.
On May 11, 2012 Urban released the album, The Story So Far in Australia; a collection of 19 songs from his previous albums. While performing at the Borgata, Urban also sang “Kiss A Girl,” “Without You,” “Somebody Like You;” and dedicated the song, “For You” to members of the military everywhere.
Urban’s show wasn’t a huge production packed with special effects, lights and costumes; instead the two hour concert featured the artist’s raw talent as he sang his songs and played his music. The intimate performance was exactly the special evening fans wanted.
