water cooler logoNorthern Liberties has had a revival in the past several years as many urbanities have taken to the neighborhood upon it’s revitalization.  As a result property values have gonesabina rose o'donnell up, crime has gone down, and it has transformed into a small enclave of young professionals.

Yesterday’s tragic discovery of the nude body of Sabina Rose O’Donnell –  who was raped, strangled, and murdered illustrates that disgusting criminals can rear their ugly heads in any neighborhood regardless of how safe it may be. This isn’t a problem with Philadelphia or Northern Liberties, but rather a stunning reminder of the vile criminals who walk our streets.  With that said, Philadelphia has seen a significant reduction in homocides and violent crimes with Charles Ramsey at the helm.

Police suspect that a man dragged her to the lot behind her building on the 1200 block of Orianna street and then raped her and strangled her to death, thus leaving her body.  A neighbor discovered O’Donnell’s dead body the next morning at around 10 A.M.

Thus, another wonderful person’s life has to end way too early.  Everybody who has ever known Ms. Odonnell said she was an absolutely wonderful person on every level. Our condolensces go out to her family.

Northern Liberties business owners along with friends and family of Sabina Rose O’Donnell have posted a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the killer. There will be more fundraisers going on today and tomorrow in order to add money to the reward.  At 10:00 PM tonight donations will be collected at The Moshulu Cafe Restaurant and Bar.  And, at Octo on Columbus Boulevard tomorrow, they’ll be collecting donations as well.  The Silk City Diner is also collecting donations for O’Donnell.

Anyone with information can leave tips anonymously at 215-546-TIPS.
