On Saturday, September 19, 2009 the Friends of Jefferson Square Park are hosting a free all-day event entitled “Rock The Park”. The event will take place in Jefferson Square Park at 3rd Street and Washington Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19147 (South Philadelphia). The rain date is the following Saturday, September 26.

 

This is a Rock and Roll festival featuring a dozen local bands on two stages. Music will begin at Noon and run until 10:00pm. A unique add-on to this event will be a Flea Market beginning at 9:00am of over 40 vendors selling Rock and Roll memorabilia and related merchandise.

The Rock The Park organizers include Mark Hurst, Vice President of the Friends of Jefferson Square Park and Kristi Lebesco and Barb Berman of Flaunt Events, LLC  www.flauntitnow.com.

 

Ample free parking surrounds the park. The park is a stop on Septa Bus Routes 57 and 64.

 

Those attending should bring a picnic blanket or chairs.
