Philly Spying- Questions continue to surround President Obama’s health care reform

-

On Tuesday, the official blog of the Obama White House stated:

“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

Immediately, I sent the following to Team Obama:

Immediately, I sent the following to Team Obama:

Dear Mr. President:

First, I would like to congratulate you on your innovative new policy of having people forward private conversations to your staff. I have long dreamed of living in a nation where neighbors are encouraged to reveal private conversations to the federal government. I weep every night knowing that I will never know what it is like to have grown up in East Germany circa 1979.

Secondly, I’d like to report my aunt and our recent e-mail exchange to you. The other day, my aunt went to the doctor’s office to have her mouth roof sores looked at. Immediately afterwards, she wrote to me:

“I wonder when Obama will pay for this! LOL!!!!”

This is clearly the type of disinformation you were talking about; after all, Obama himself will not personally pay for the treatment of open sores on the roof of her mouth. This is certainly fishy. Do you have any advice on how I could correct and re-educate her about your policies of health care reform? Actually, she does not respond well to individual punishment/reward scenarios (believe me, I’ve tried); is there a government-sponsored facility she can go to so she can learn the truth about how wrong this is?

If you want to reach her via e-mail, her address is obamamuslimnotbornhere@aolgmailgeocities.com.

Also, do you have any of those really cool HOPE posters left? I’d like to stick one in a storefront window.

Sincerely,

Gregory Gethard
